Adult Learning for Distance Education
Instructors:  Dr. Dan Coldeway/Dr. Deb Gearhart

Course Description:

This course identified critical features of adult learning and how they apply to the issues in distance learning design, development, and delivery.  The primary focus was on the adult learner from all current theoretical perspectives.

Course Reflections
This course was done primarily over the DDN.  We read assignments during the week and discussed them over the DDN weekly.  We also listened to guest speakers who lectured on adult learning issues in distance education.  Midway through the course, our instructor Dr. Dan Coldeway, became very ill and passed away.  Although we were very sad, we were thankful for Dr. Deb Gearhart, who took over the course for the remainder of the semester.  For our final project, we made group PowerPoint presentations on issues of relevance to the adult learner in distance education.  Tammie Munsen worked as a team and presented a PowerPoint on "Adapting Instructional Methods Based on Adult Learning Styles".
