RE:  Internet Protection Act

The Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) was signed into law on December 21st, 2000.  The law requires all schools to implement a filtering or blocking system for all computers and to implement an Internet Safety Policy.

White Lake School District has an extensive filtering system, and an Internet Safety Policy, but no system can stop someone from seeking inappropriate materials.  Part of our Safety Policy requires a written disclosure for parents and children that states students will not participate in inappropriate and/or unlawful internet activities.

Please have your child sign this disclosure and return to the School.
