PERIOD 4: ADVANCED COMPUTER APPLICATIONS  10:31-11:21 AM "
Assignments are ready to go!

We're going to give Premiere Pro one more try. Please don't leave this to the last minute in case you run into problems and need help. It will save frustration for both of us if you start right away on your assignments. Here's hoping for a great week!

We are also going to start submitting assignments through Google Classroom. Hopefully that will save us the hassle we had last week in trying to send large files. Let me know if this doesn't work so I can come up with an alternate plan. Log onto https://classroom.google.com/ (just like you do with Mr. Reed's class) and if you see a Plus sign, click on it and choose Join Class. If you don't see the plus sign, click the 3 little lines on the top left of your window. Then click the plus sign and choose Join Class. The code to join the class is di73tby

Open Premiere Pro. On the opening window, click the Learn tab on the left side of the window. Then on the top right, click Start First Tutorial. Follow the animated directions that start in the left pane and complete the tutorial. There is nothing to turn in.

Due by midnight Thursday.

Open Premiere Pro. On the opening window, click the Learn tab on the left side of the window. Then on the right, click Premiere Pro Overview. Follow the animated directions and complete the tutorial. Save the file and submit your finished file to Google Classroom. If you can't find where you saved it, look in My Computer-->Documents-->Premiere Pro-->Then check in the folders that result. Mine ended up in a folder called 14, but yours might be different. If you still can't find it, email me.

Due by midnight Thursday.
Final Premiere Pro assignment.

By midnight on Thursday, you need to do the following:

- Submit the Premiere Pro files from Monday and  Tuesday's assignments.

- Email Mrs. Nightingale with the theme/topic of your final Premiere Pro video assignment.

-Start gathering the photos/videos that you want to use for your video. You may still add some later, but for now you need at least 15 photos if you’re only using photos, or 4 videos if you’re only using videos, or a mixture of photos and videos to equal 15 total. Email me a screenshot of the thumbnails (not list view) of the photos/videos in your folder.

-In Google Classroom, submit your Final Premiere Pro file, named correctly and with at least 15 pictures/videos in the timeline. The video does not have to be finished at this point because we will continue working on it next week.

-Start thinking what song you want to play in your video. The song needs to be school appropriate and will need to be approved before inserting it. Email the song title/artist to get it approved and let me know if you need me to download it.
Continue working on the Final Premiere Pro assignment.

By midnight on Thursday, you need to do the following:

- Submit the Premiere Pro files from Monday and  Tuesday's assignments.

Add Clips to Your Sequence

The file that you downloaded for this assignment isn't exactly like the one in the video, so here are the directions to fix it:
Use the file that you originally downloaded from my lesson plans in the zipped folder. It will look a little different from the directions, but it will work for the assignment. Follow these directions to get it to look like the handout:
  1. On the Video 1 track, delete all video except Football in the Rain. So you will click on the clip and hit your delete key for the following: Houses from Above, Kids Rolling a Tire, People Shelter from the Rain, Temple from Above, and Temple from the Ground.
  2. On the Audio 2 track, delete Going_Home_Music, so there should be nothing on A2 anymore.
  3. In the Project Panel (lower left), expand the Media Files folder so you can see the contents. Drag the Great Forest clip into the Video 2 track. The audio for the clip will automatically go on the Audio 2 track.
Then you should be able to follow the directions on handout for Assignment #9 starting on the first page right under the first picture.

On January 9, two important technology events occurred. On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone and on January 9, 2001, Apple launched iTunes. Go to the websites listed below to read about these important advances in technology. Then search for at least one more website for each topic to learn more about the events. As you are reading, take notes so that you can write at least one paragraph (4-5 or more sentences in length) about each of the events. Do not copy word for word. Remember what we have learned about copyright infringement. Summarize the articles and describe how these technologies have changed the world. At the bottom of the Word document, list your websites that you used, including the two listed below. Write your summaries in Word and save in a Word folder in your Multimedia folder on the Share Drive. This document is due by the beginning of class on Monday.
