-Shut off Manual Focus and Image Stabilization.
-Set camera dial to TV mode (Time
 Value) and change the time to 30' (longer exposure-shutter is open for 30 seconds)
-Hold down ISO button and then
 change ISO to 100 (so the light sensor isn't as sensitive to light)
-Aperture size (need to click on AV setting which is aperture priority mode) -change f-stop to between 6-11.
-Then set on Manual mode (M)
-Put camera on tripod.
-Stand in front of camera with a 
 flashlight on.
-Have someone shut off light (needs
 to be completely dark) and click
 camera shutter button.
-Person in front of camera turns on flashlight and starts painting a picture with the flashlight. (You only have 30 seconds!)

·         Put all reasearch paper materials in your binder - note cards, printed-off websites, rough draft, etc.

·         Before November 21, you must make your first contact with your mentor by phone to explain your project to him/her, ask if he/she would be willing to mentor you for your project, and set up a time to meet and get paperwork signed.-Show the signed paperwork to Mrs. Nightingale by November 21 and put in your binder.

Begin working on group podcasts  Group podcasts  Group Podcasts-I will check your individual segment scripts, and then the host will write all the introductions and closings. Monday, we will continue working on the group podcast and finish the recordings. We will edit the recordings, save the project and export as an MP3 on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday - Write blog post about using audacity to create podcasts. at least 100 words - Describe what Audacity is, what we created in Audacity, if you liked using Audacity and why or why not, if it easy to use, and if you would ever use it again. Add a link to your individual and group podcast to your blog post. Wednesday - Create Mixbook accounts and start Poetry project.

Completed individual podcast (with bumper music) due by class time Monday. If you are working at home, save it on your desktop as an Audacity project. You won't be able to export it as an MP3 at home because it needs the lame encoder from the Share Drive. You can export it as an MP3 when you get to class as long as everything else  is finished.  When you get to school, you will need to save the audacity project and the mp3 in the class folder.


Next week we will be working on our group podcast on some of the good and bad effects of technology.

Get into groups and decide who will be host and who will be doing each segment. Begin writing segments in Word. They will be due (in our class folder on the Share Drive) by the beginning of class tomorrow.

After individual scripts are approved, individuals begin recording the segments. Same them as an audacity project and export as an mp3 in your own Audacity folder in our class folder.

Once all the individual scripts have been approved, the hosts will insert each individual segment script into one final script and begin working on the introductions and closing. The final written script (in Word) will be due at the beginning of class Monday.

With friends and family, use emoticons to show how you are feeling when you are talking because they can't see your face.

The best way to keep bad netiquette from spreading is to practice good netiquette.

·         Senior Project Topic Selection form – Turn in to Mrs. Nightingale during computer class 8/29/16

 

·         Sign Senior Project Acknowledgement form –hand in during computer class 8/29/16.

·         Honor Statement  needs to read and signed by you and your parents.–hand in during computer class 8/29/16.

 

·        Required Senior Project Class meeting - Bring your sheet protectors, tabbed dividers, and your laptops. 8:00 AM in Mrs. Nightingale's room 9/7/16.

·         Every time you work on your Senior Project outside of English Class, record your time in the time log and journal (at least 20 times throughout the year). You should have at least one journal entry written before our full class Wednesday morning meeting on 9/7/16. The activity log should be up to date, as well. I will check them at the meeting, so have it done prior to the meeting.

·         The Letter of Intent is due on 9/9/16.  - hand in during computer class.

·         The Senior Project Proposal is due on 9/12/16. This needs to be printed off and signed by your parents and by you before turning it in to me. Hand in during computer class.
